John Gaughan is an American Journalist and meteorologist. Currently, he is working as a weekend meteorologist at WJXT. He joined WJXT in late 1992. Previously, he was a chief meteorologist at WOLO-TV which was his first on-air job. In 1987 he received the AMS seal of approval. Later, he worked as a chief meteorologist at another television station in Jacksonville before joining WFTV in Orlando. In 1992 John was the main on-air meteorologist as Hurricane Andrew first failed Florida.
He has forecast more than just the weather since he joined News4Jax. From 1993 to 1994 John was the champion during the National Investment Challenge. He also considered stock-picking easy.
